En aften med bluesbaseret americana og rootsrock.
Multi-instrumentalisten, sangeren og sangskriveren Guy Forsyth er oprindeligt fra Kansas, men har i dag base i Austin, Texas, der er kendt for sin vitale bluesscene. Her står han som en respektfuld fornyer af bluestraditionen og som garant for koncerter, hvor humor, seriøsitet og autenticitet går hånd i hånd. Har man oplevet ham live tidligere i Pilegården, så ved man, at man kan se frem til en besnærende musikalitet, ægte showmanship, en varm og rå vokal, fede melodier og heftige soloer på alt lige fra akustisk og elektrisk guitar til slideguitar, ukulele, sav og mundharpe.
Genremæssigt er vi ude i en unik blanding af blues og americana. Lyden er til tider i den tunge, sumpede ende af blues-skalaen og propfyldt med referencer til både den allertidligste bluesmusik, den såkaldte Delta Blues fra Mississippi-deltaet, men samtidig tilsat en god dosis af den urbane lyd af Chicago Blues og Texas Blues.
Han har vundet flere Austin Music Awards, udgivet adskillige albums og turneret både i USA og i stigende grad i Europa. Det nyeste udkom i maj og hedder "Calico Girl". Hør ham denne aften i en tæt sammenspillet trio-konstellation:
