Hecchi ★ The CPH Residency
Den internationalt anerkendte frontman og sangskriver Mike Hecchi genopliver et kultmateriale med en række intime og unikke koncerter på Bartof Station med et band, der siges at være en regulær super-gruppe.
Et spektakulum bedst betegnet som et musikalsk fusionskøkken af gipsy jazz, latin, swamp blues og 60’er surf tilsat et tekstunivers på fire sprog og en vis portion galskab!
Det er især indenfor worldgenrerne, at Mike Hecchi har gjort sig internationalt bemærket som sangskriver, flersproget vokalist og profileret instrumentalist i bl.a. bands som The Sexican, Maraboto og Liga Latina.
Utallige topanmeldelser for såvel albums som koncerter er det blevet til; heriblandt 5 stjerner i amerikanske Billboard Magazine og hjemlige Gaffa samt nomineringer til bl.a. World Music Charts Europe, Danish Music Awards og selveste Latin Grammy.
Kendt som frontman i undergrundsfænomenet The Sexican, der opnåede kultstatus og stor international anerkendelse, inden bandet i 2017 opløstes, indspillede to studiealbums og havde flere udsolgte turnéer i Skandinavien, Latinamerika og Europa.
Bandet spillede på højt profilerede internationale festivaler som Mundial (NL), Rock in Rio (BRA), World Village (FI) og ikke mindst Vive Latino (MX) på Formel 1 banen i Mexico City samt Europas største og mest legendariske festival Sziget (HU) i Budapest.
Bandet blev kendt for sine eksplosive liveoptrædener, som selv magasinet Rolling Stone bemærkede i Mexico med ordene; "... som tyve liter Red Bull hældt ud over en scene!"
Og der er en stadig og stærk interesse i materialet, der bestemt ikke har ligget stille hen siden. Senest har videoen til nummeret ‘Cuarto de la Banda’ i den grad vundet genklang med næsten 13 mio. visninger på YouTube den seneste tid. Og det er da også numre fra den æra krydret med nye sange, der er rygraden i det nye format og udført af et regulært all-star hold af ekvilibristiske musikere.
