Ludvig Holbergs Maskerade er et af hans mest populære skuespil.
Det handler om løssluppen ungdom – og to unges forelskelsesrus, som krydser de gamles planer om et arrangeret ægteskab.
Maskeraden var en populær, folkelig forlystelse, da Holbergs komedie havde premiere på teatret i Lille Grønnegade (nuværende Ny Adelsgade) i 1724.
Men samme år blev maskeraderne forbudt, og da de senere igen blev tilladte, var de forbeholdt overklassen.
