Nordisk Litteraturuge er et højtlæsningsarrangement, hvor den samme nordiske litteratur læses up samtidigt i hele Norden.
Vær med, når bibliotekarerne Hans Skou og Lene Madsen læser op af ”Islandske konger”. En roman af den populære islandske forfatter Einar Mar Gudmundsson.
Vi serverer kaffe, kage og hygge under oplæsningen.
Om bogen
”Islandske konger” er en samling fortællinger om den fiktive Knudsen-slægt, som bor i det lille fiskesamfund Tangavik.
Tangavik rummer hele verden og her mødes sorg med glæde, død med liv, og frygt med mod. I byens centrum står næsten altid en Knudsen og byen myldrer af legendariske fyldebøtter, snakkehoveder, mesterfiskere, skibsredere, lurendrejere og matematikgenier.
Titlen på romanen kan synes paradoksal, da Island ikke har nogen konge. I bogen er det nemlig de mange småkonger Einar Már Gudmundsson præsenterer, med reference til de danske konger, som jo i lang tid var islændingenes overhoved.
I Islandske konger er det netop tåberne, der er sat i helterollen og selv om man ikke har blåt blod i årene, mener islændingene, at man alligevel godt kan te sig som en konge.
Om forfatteren
Einar Már Guðmundsson er en islandsk forfatter, der blev født i 1954 i Reykjavik. Debuterede i 1980 med et par digtsamlinger og i 1995 modtog Einar Már Nordisk Råds litteraturpris for romanen ”Universets engle”. Den populære bog blev filmatiseret i 2000 og fik stor succes. Einar Már bliver regnet som en af Islands fornemmeste forfattere og har blandt andet modtaget Karen Blixen-medaljen.
