Tre Holbergfortolkere kommer med bud på Holbergs betydning for teatret og byen. Mød skuespiller Olaf Johannessen, instruktør og teaterdirektør Peter Schrøder og teaterhistoriker Bent Holm. Peter Schrøder taler om sit lange og utrættelige arbejde med Holberg på scenen, Bent Holm præsenterer overvejelser over, hvad Holbergs teater betød for byen, og Olaf Johannessen læser Holbergtekster om København. Instruktøren står i kulissen, teaterhistorikeren på scenen og skuespilleren i foyeren. Det hele indrammes af formanden for Holbergsamfundet, Sune Berthelsen. Arrangeret af Holbergsamfundet i samarbejde med Det Kongelige Teater.
I forbindelse med oplæsningen vil der være urpremiere på nyoversættelsen af Holbergs Levnedsbreve.
