Kritikerrosade och prisbelönta Ida Bang & The Blue Tears är ett ungt retro-/roots-band från Stockholm som lyfts fram som det nya bluesstjärnskottet i Norden.
Efter flera fantastiska recensioner av både liveshow och album i några av Sveriges största tidningar, bl.a. Dagens Nyheter, Sydsvenskan, Barometern och Jefferson Blues Magazine, beskrivs de återkommande som ett välbehövligt nytt och nytänkande retro-/roots-band med skickliga musiker och ett eget sound, men samtidigt med stor respekt för bluesens rötter.
Våren 2016 representerade de Sverige i European Blues Challenge i Italien, efter att ha vunnit den svenska uttagningstävlingen. Bandet gjorde succé och blev tävlingens stora ”snackis”, vilket banade väg för mer turnerande även utanför Sveriges gränser. Sommaren 2016 släppte bandet även sitt första fullängdsalbum, Possibilities, som innehåller 11 egenskrivna låtar vilka visar på bandets bredd. Sedan starten 2013 har de blivit ett eftertraktat band som synts på alla Sveriges större bluesfestivaler och klubbar.
26-åriga sångerskan och låtskrivaren Ida Bang sjunger med mycket inlevelse och intensitet, som det finns kraft och auktoritet bakom. Hon har gjort mycket för den nya, modernare bluesen i Sverige genom att starta Ladies Got The Blues - ett hyllningsband till kvinnliga bluesmusiker, som också har tagit Sverige med storm - men hon har även setts som klubbarrangör på legendariska jazzklubben Fasching.
Låtmaterialet har influerats av artister som Bonnie Raitt och Tedeschi Trucks Band, medan soundet kan jämföras med The Black Keys och Alabama Shakes.
