In its second edition, the Decolonising Mindsets conference will focus on the role of decolonisation on the nexus of culture and national security interests. From global trends and best practices in cultural rightful retribution to making space for formerly repressed and colonised voices, Ukraine House in Denmark invites you for a discussion on the latest crucial movements in cultural resistance to Russian colonialism and the implications of the latter in the broader contemporary geopolitical context. The conference will take place on 25 April from 14:00 to 18:00.

Bringing together experts from across Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, the conference will feature conversations around decolonisation practices within creative institutions and the importance of centering underrepresented voices in cultural spaces with an outlook to the increasingly uncertain future. Now that the threat of colonial optics to European security is clearly visible, comes the time to reflect and compare notes: how has colonialism impacted international perceptions of European art and cultural heritage? And how does one decolonise their collections?
