I 2016 gik tre personer med vidt forskellige baggrunde i gang med at skrive en ny udgave af Turen går til Japan for Politikens forlag. Men hvordan er det overhovedet muligt at koge et land med så mange facetter som Japan ned til bare 158 sider? Kan man virkelig yde sit yndlingsland retfærdighed på så få sider?
Katrine Klinken, kok og madskribent, og Mette Holm, oversætter, fortæller om den spændende men også monumentale opgave at skrive bogen i samarbejde med journalist Asger Røjle Christensen. De fortæller om overvejelser, research og de mange vigtig valg og fravalg undervejs. Og ikke mindst om en masse fantastiske muligheder.
De to forfattere giver praktiske tips og øser af deres oplevelser og viden om blandt andet sjove apps, brug af Google-maps, madkurser og alternative ’hoteller’ og spisesteder. Derudover beretter de blandt andet om:
-Hvordan genopleves Japan på ny og i en helt ny sammenhæng, når man indsamler data?

-Litteraturen på turen
-Drikkekulturen i Japan
Foredraget indledes med en smagsprøve på japansk madkultur, idet der serveres ramen kl. 19.
