Jón Kalman Stefánsson (f. 1963) debuterede i 1988 og har skrevet digtsamlinger, noveller og romaner, der har gjort ham til en af Islands fremmeste forfattere. I Danmark kendes han for romaner som Sommerlys og så kommer natten, Englenes sorg, Fisk har ingen fødder og Nogenlunde på størrelse med universet.
Carsten Jensen (f. 1952) har siden 1980’erne været en af de mest markante stemmer og penne i den danske samfundsdebat. Og ud over en lang række essays, artikler og rejsebøger har romaner som Vi, de druknede og Den første sten gjort ham til en af Danmarks mest læste forfattere.
Islandsk-danske forfattermøder
I anledning af Islands 100-års suverænitetsjubilæum har vi i samarbejde med Islands Ambassade inviteret nogle af Islands og Danmarks fremmeste forfattere til at mødes i litteratursalonen NordOrd. På baggrund af deres forfatterskaber vil de drøfte emner og spørgsmål, som udstikkes af moderator Birgir Thor Møller, før de besvarer spørgsmål fra salen. Arrangementerne varer omtrent 80 minutter, og litteratursalonens cafe åbner en time før de starter.
