Musikken er melodiøs, funky og dragende. Gruppen startede som et møde mellem den cubanske musik og den skandinaviske jazz, men er i dag et stærkt ensemble med en international lyd. Musikken er lige nøjagtig så dansk, svensk og cubansk, som de musikere der spiller den. Lyden er derfor frem for alt international, indeholdende farver fra overalt på kloden. Fra de steder musikerne kommer, fra Christianshavn, Karlstad, Havana og alle de steder de har rejst og suget inspiration til sig. Blanco y Negro har eksisteret siden 2006, hvor også den første CD udkom. Senest har de sidste år udgivet et latinjazz album, Timbero.
