Glad swingende jazzmusik vil fylde det store festlokale på Reersø Kro fredag aften den 28. oktober, når Kansas City Stompers kommer på besøg. Det uforlignelige orkester stiller op med den syngende præst Nynne Lange i spidsen, den svenske musikprofessor Ulf Johansson Werre ved klaveret, Karsten Christensen på tenorsax, Lasse Lundstrøm, bas, Roger Berg, trommer, og 82-årige utrættelige kapelmester Niels Abild med sin hvide plasticklarinet. Den købte han i New Orleans for mange år siden. Som teenager startede Abild Kansas City Stompers i sin fødeby Aabenraa i 1951 og har gennem mere end 70 år optrådt både for kongelige og godtfolk overalt i landet. Men det bliver første gang på Reersø!
Det populære orkester er kendt og elsket for sin overlegent swingende og imødekommende stil, der befinder sig i grænselandet mellem traditionel jazz og swing, krydret med elementer af andre genrer. “Vores repertoire er en verdensomrejse i rytmisk musik,” fastslår kapelmester Niels Abild kort og godt.
