I en fusion mellem traditionel musik fra det nordøstlige Ghana og den rastløse energi fra moderne hiplife, tager King Ayisoba sin musik ud på et fascinerende og fremaddrivende rytmisk territorium. Musikkens bærende elementer er strengeinstrumentet kologo og Ayisobas karakteristiske vokal, der spænder fra kraftig sang over hæse brøl til en nasal gnækken på både engelsk og de lokale ghanesiske sprog frafra og twi.
Det hele eskalerer på Ayisobas seneste album, “1000 Can Die” (Glitterbeat, 2017), som trækker på ældgamle traditioner og helt mesterligt lader oprindelige, trancedannende rytmer gravet direkte op fra Ghanas støvede undergrund stå centralt i et hidsigt møde mellem guluku-spil, dundun-trommer, electronica og hiplife-genrens ustoppelige puls.
King Ayisoba debuterede i Ghana i 2006 med albummet “Modern Ghanaians” og singlen “I Want to See You My Father”, der gjorde ham til en stjerne i hjemlandet. To år senere begyndte Ayisoba at turnere i Europa sammen med bl.a. Zea fra det hollandske kultband The Ex. Han har desuden samarbejdet med navne fra den danske musikscene som Pharfar og Djuma Soundsystem. King Ayisoba og band har tidligere leveret intense live-optrædener på både Global, Roskilde Festival og sidste år på festivalen Badesøen, og det kommer med garanti ikke til at gå stille for sig, når de vender tilbage med deres festfyrværkeri af et liveshow.
