KLANGSTOF (NL)
Netop som Amsterdambaserede Klangstof havde udgivet deres andet studiealbum, smulrede det hele i hænderne på dem. Pandemien ramte, og bandet måtte indstille den tour, de netop var draget afsted på. Nu tager de revanche, og udover noget af den musik, deres lyttere allerede kender, medbringer de en helt ny EP. EP’en bestående af fire sange, som blev til i kølevandet på den aflyste tour. Om EP'en fortæller bandmedlemmet Van de Wardt:
"Since we hadn’t been able to play live together for a while, we felt the need to record these tracks sitting in a room together, playing the songs from start to finish as a group. Most of the tracks have been recorded in just one or a few takes. The whole process was very refreshing, the energy in the room was incredible. We honestly think we’ve never sounded as much as a band as on this recording.”
Ocean View EP viser en helt ny side at det eksperimenterende band. En side, hvor det er tydeligt, at tøjlerne er blevet løsning. Bandet har givet sig hen til musikken og åbnet op både følelsesmæssigt og lydmæssigt. EP'en er mixet af Sam Petts-Davies (Radiohead, Frank Ocean) og masteret af producer Heba Kadry (Björk, Slowdive, Big Thief).
Klangstof er det første hollandske band nogensinde, der har optrådt på Coachella, hvilket understeger deres kæmpe internationale potentiale. Oplev dem på RUST til april.
