Cisternerne danner ramme om en unik koncertoplevelse, når Det Unge VokalEnsemble og Ice Cream Cathedral sammen skaber en sælsomt dragende lydside til Cisternernes mørke søjlegange. Som en foruroligende tidevandsbølge fyldes de mægtige, underjordiske rum gradvist af korsang og elektronisk manipulerede stemmer, mens publikum lader sanserne gå på opdagelse i installationen "the Water" af den japanske arkitekt Hiroshi Sambuichi.
I 2016 afholdt Cisternerne første del af koncertserien ”Unknown Waters”, hvor Det Unge VokalEnsemble uropførte komponisten Signe Lykkes værk Wetlands. Arrangementet blev lynhurtigt udsolgt.
I år vender koret tilbage med anden del af projektet: en indspilning af kompositionen, der efterfølgende er bearbejdet og transformeret af Ice Cream Cathedral. Resultatet er et selvstændigt elektronisk værk med vandet og det vokale i centrum. De to værker - Wetlands og det elektroniske værk - sammenstilles ved denne performance i Cisternerne.
Projektet er støttet af: Augustinus Fonden, Frederiksberg Kommune, Statens Kunstfond, Dansk Komponistforening og KODA’s Kulturelle Midler.
