"KONGEN LÆNGE LEVE" er en komisk og satirisk forestilling, der viser hvordan magtspil finder sted i alle menneskelige relationer. Lige så berusende og forførende magten kan være for et menneske, lige så ødelæggende og fordærvende er den.
Kong Helmer er en gal konge, der i brutal kedsomhed gør, hvad der passer ham - han myrder sine tjenestefolk, jagter spøgelser i haven og opfinder nye talrækker til ingen verdens nytte i stedet for at tage sig af sit sultende folk. Der er ingen grænser for hans galskab og magt. Men til kongens store frustration, forstår han ikke hvorfor han ikke er elsket!
Det begynder langsomt at gå op for folket, at der er noget helt galt i kongehuset - de fleste bønder som kommer ind på slottet kommer nemlig sjældent ud igen - og de sulter! De beslutter sig for, at der skal ske noget andet - hvad der skal ske, ved de ikke helt, men der skal i hvert fald være revolution!
"Kongen længe leve" er produceret og iscenesat af Teatergruppen Fabulas.
