Lisbeth Barkhuus synger sange af Bertolt Brecht, akkompagneret af sin pianist Jakob Wirth Svendsen. Lisbeth og Jakob lavede i årene 2001 til 2003 deres ”TorsdagsCabaret” i den hedengangne cafe Chips længere oppe af Øster Farimagsgade.
Denne gang synger hun sange fra forestillingen: Længsel efter menneskelighed, som hun lavede sammen med Sonja Kehler og den tyske skuespiller Uta Motz på Svalegangen i Århus.
Lisbeth har uddannet sig hos Sonja Kehler i Tyskland. Sonja Kehler var efter hendes mening den mest autentiske fortolker af Brecht, og Sonja Kehler havde i gennem 25 år sin gang i Danmark, da hun underviste på skuespillerskolen i Odense. Sonja Kehlers nøgterne og sanselige fremførelse af Brechts hårdtslående tekster gav tilhøreren en klar og indlevende opfattelse af sangens indhold.
Sangene er alle på dansk, enkelte af sangene er oversat af Lisbeth selv.
