Mads Houe & The Quavers er et innovativt orkester ledet af den aalborgensiske trommeslager og bassist Mads Houe Sørensen. Han har med orkestret påbegyndt en musikalsk rejse med et ønske om at fortolke forskellige aspekter af livets oplevelser.
Siden gruppens begyndelse i august 2015 har The Quavers indspillet deres debutplade ”Mass Quave” som har høstet fine anmeldelser på bl.a. Jazznyt og i Jazzspecial og derudover airtime på Radio Jazz og P8. Albummet, som blev optaget live i Finland Studio, er et forsøg på at afspejle, hvordan tilværelsen kan være travlt og spændende, men at der også skal være plads til stilhed og eftertænksomhed. Musikken henter inspiration fra en bred vifte af genrer idet bandet både spiller funk, swing og i nordisk jazzet stil. Dette er med til at skabe det store lærred Mads Houe Sørensen gerne vil male og fortælle med orkestret.
Musikken skal opleves live, da hver koncert vil give et unikt præg. I bandet er det største ønske at give publikum en god oplevelse.
The Hip Bop Band
Musikken er på en gang nutidig, moderne og traditionel. Lyden af afrobeat, jazz, soul og hiphop smeltes sammen til ny musik, der overskrider de almindelige genrer og giver The Hip Bop Band en charmerende og interessant lyd. Live fremstår bandet både eksplosivt og nærværende, når de præsentere deres stemningsfyldte, dansable musik.
De fire musikere mødtes i 2013. Siden har de spillet sammen på kryds og tværs i mange forskellige konstellationer. I 2015 samlede Jonas dem til The Hip Bop Band. Et band hvor alle byder ind og sætter deres personlige præg på musikken. Et band hvor groove, leg og improvisation er i højsædet.
