Stengade is pleased to announce the capture of a completely unique species in the Scandinavian band flora. Major Parkinson will play their first ever show on Danish soil on May the 4th 2024. This truly progressive band has been pushing musical boundaries since their 2008 debut and will already be known to many. But despite an impressive resume, Major Parkinson still has both feet firmly placed in the underground. Listening through their five studio albums is a musical journey unlike anything, from the raw energy of their 2008 debut via the quirkiness of Songs from a Solitary Home (2010), the dark, labyrinthine prog hallways of Twilight Cinema (2014) and Blackbox (2017) into the larger-than-life apocalypse pop epic Valesa#1 (2022). This band is progressive in the most accurate sense of the word, never standing still, furiously trying to carve out new musical ground at any opportunity. Their live shows are grandiose, high energy displays – almost ceremonial in nature, and we look forward to welcoming them to Stengade.

Far er for de forrykte. Mennesket på bunden. Mennesket med ar på sjælen. Far synger og spiller for deres stemmer. Gennem sorte sømandsviser og punkede folkemusik-numre, med inspiration fra nær og fjern, spiller Far energiske og opløftende hymner på harmonika og klaver. På trods af at det lyriske univers kan virke håbløst og febrilsk, så er det også lyden af et lys ude i fremtiden.
Far har siden februar 2022 spillet 50 koncerter rundt i Danmark i forskellige konstellationer af sit band. Far kommer i alt fra duo til trio og kvintet.

Spillestedet Stengade is a progressive user-driven music venue in the middle of Nørrebro in Copenhagen. The music profile at Spillestedet Stengade is diverse - often based on the local underground but also with a large number of international artists.
The house's many dedicated volunteers are the absolute lifeblood of Stengade, who run our approx. 200 concert events per year. Without them there wouldn't be any shows!
