Vi inviterer indenfor til noget nyt i Absalon – MandagsTalks.
Sammen skal vi opleve, nørde og beriges med nye perspektiver på verden. Hver gang tager vi et nyt emne op, og forskellige mennesker står klar til at præsentere lige det, de ved mest om og gøre os klogere.
Dagens MandagsTalk’er er: Arturo Mugler, i samarbejde med Disturbing Business.
Arturo Mugler besøger os fra New York, hvor han er en stor del af Ballroom-scenen og ekspert i Voguing. Ballroom startede i USA tilbage i 60’erne, hvor folk kunne “gå” mod hinanden i kategorier som Runway, Best Dressed og Hands Performance og vinde trofæer og priser. Ud fra Ballroom-scenen opstod i 80’erne danseformen Vogue eller Voguing - en helt særegen dansestil, inspireret af Vogue-magasinets kendte model-poses og egyptiske hieroglyffer.
Vi skal høre Arturo Mugler fortælle historien bag Voguing, se klip fra kultdokumentaren “Paris is Burning” fra 1991 og herfra få indblik i nutidens Ballroom-kultur foranlediget af Hector LaBeija fra den danske dansegruppe Disturbing Business. De har samlet en flok vogue'ere til at præsentere og skabe Danmarks første Ballroom nogensinde!!

Together we will experience, nerd and get enriched by new perspectives on the world. Every time a new topic, and different people will present exactly what they know the most about and enlighten us.
This evening's MondayTalk'ers: Arturo Mugler, in collaboration with Disturbing Business.
Arturo Mugler visits us from New York, where he is a big part of the Ballroom scene and expert in Voguing. Ballroom started in USA back in the 60s, where people "walk" for trophies and prizes in categories such as Runway, Best Dressed and Hands Performance. From the Ballroom scene, in the 80s, the dance style Vogue or Voguing was born - a unique style inspired by model-poses and Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs.
Arturo Mugler will tell us the story behind Voguing, we will watch scenes from the legendary documentary "Paris is Burning" from 1991 and afterwards Hector LaBeija from the Danish dance group Disturbing Business will invite us into today's Ballroom culture. They have gathered a group of vogue'ers to run Denmark's first ever seen Ballroom runway!!
De har samlet en flok vogue'ere til at transformere Absalon til en ægte runway og slutter dermed aftnen af med Danmarks første Ballroom nogensinde!! Bring your best friend, neighbor or big brother and come to MondayTalk in Absalon.
