Marina Sena er en af Brasiliens uanfægtet største upcoming popstjerner, og med ekstrem laberhed, star quality, og en sensuel blanding af samba, trap og pop er hun ved at indtage resten af verden. Til april har ALICE fået en unik mulighed for at præsentere et soloshow med Brasiliens svar på Rosalía i Valby Kulturhus. DJ Tjiquita vender plader.
Marina Sena er allerede en superstjerne i Brasilien, hvor hun har millioner af fans og headliner store festivaller og venues. Endelig er hendes musik også begyndt at brede sig til resten af verden, og det er vi mildest talt rigtig glade for. Den unge popdarling er da også skudt mod stjernerne i raketfart med debutalbummet “De Primeira”, som lå højt på mange årslister i 2021, og med en stemme og en stage presence, som må få selv den største popskeptiker til at overgive sig prompte.
Med en på én gang klar og sensuel sopranvokal og vibrato, og med et hav af instrumenter, der kombinerer brasiliansk popmusik, har Marina Sena tydelige referencer til Gal Costa og 1960’ernes Tropicalía på “De Primeira”. Samtidig skaber Sena helt sin egen 2020’er-poplyd, når hun flirter med et væld af genrer fra samba og funk carioca til trap, reggae og axé. Det er musik, som oser af frihed og som man skal danse og overgive sig til. Vi er ekstremt stolte af at kunne præsentere Brasiliens største popsentation, når hun spiller solo til et intimt soloshow i Valby Kulturhus. With equal parts sassiness, pop stardom and genuine musical quality, she is just about to take over the rest of the world. This April, ALICE has a unique chance to present an intimate solo show with the Brazilian Rosalía at Valby Kulturhus. DJ Tjequita at the deks.
Marina Sena is already a super star in Brazil, where she has millions of followers and is headlining the biggest festivals and venues. Finally, the rest of the world is discovering her. The young pop darling, steering directly towards the stars, had her debut album at the top of many Best Albums of 2021-lists. Her seducing vocals and stunning stage presence make even the most stubborn pop skeptics surrender.
With high-pitched voice belting in melodies verging on psychedelia; a range of instrumentals meshing different genres of Brazilian popular music, Marina Sena throws clear references to gal Costa and the 1960s Tropicalía in Brazil. However, the magic of Sena and her debut album “De Primeira” lies in more than just its resemblance to singers like Costa, or even the vibratos of singers like Tulipa Ruiz. Sena flirts with a variety of genres, from samba to funk carioca, trap, reggae and axé, making it tropical and delicious. Last but not least, her music oozes of freedom and begs to be danced and surrendered to. We’re extremely proud of this unique chance to present Marina Sena at an intimate solo show at Valby Kulturhus this April.
