Martin Zeppelin betragter sin omverden gennem et kalejdoskop af fantasifulde tekster og sange om nære relationer og fremtidshåb. Han begyndte at skrive egne sange på dansk, da lockdown kom - efter han havde taget sin kandidat i sangskrivning på musikkonservatoriet, hvor Peter Sommer var hans mentor, som udtaler: “He had me at: Jeg vil bare skrive om lortet! Hvilket var Martin Zeppelins main begrundelse for at skrive sange, og med dem under armen, søge ind på sangskriverlinjen. Han var allerede i mit sangskriverhjerte, og jeg fik ham ind på uddannelsen.”
Sommer fortsætter, “Nu er han ude med sit andet album på dansk, Skyggeblomst. Og for fanden hvor er han blomstret i de skygger han har befundet sig i. Men nu bevæger han sig op i lyset, ud i verden og forhåbentligt ind i fleres bevidsthed. Han skriver sgu om lortet!”

Sangene fra det anmelderroste debutalbum Tropenat, kom endelig ud live, da Martin og hans 6-mands-band blev inviteret med som opvarmning for Folkeklubben, og da Smukfest endelig åbnede igen i 2022, var Martin Zeppelin og band på programmet med en fredagskoncert i P3 Teltet.
Nu er opfølgeren Skyggeblomst ude, som fik 5 stjerner i GAFFA med de indledende ord:
“Astronaut-frontmand Martin Zeppelin smider sit andet soloalbum på gaden, og det kan meget nemt vise sig at være årets dansksprogede overraskelse.”
Til nytår landede ‘Skyggeblomst’ på en 4. plads, på en af Gaffas lister over de 10 bedste dansksprogede udgivelser i 2022, og til koncerten på Stengade, som bliver den første headliner koncert i København, spiller Martin Zeppelin og hans band sange fra de to album.

Spillestedet Stengade is a progressive user-driven music venue in the middle of Nørrebro in Copenhagen. The music profile at Spillestedet Stengade is diverse - often based on the local underground but also with a large number of international artists.
The house's many dedicated volunteers are the absolute lifeblood of Stengade, who run our approx. 200 concert events per year. Without them there wouldn't be any shows!
