Matcha [ma’tja] er den reneste te og derved den fornemmeste og sundeste.Matchateen bruges i den officielle teceremoni i Japan. Tidligere blev teen, der har et meget højt indhold af koffein, brugt af japanske munke, så de kunne holde sig vågne under flere dages meditation.
Matcha er en pulverte, hvor man drikker selve plantematerialet og derved får gavn af alle teens nærende egenskaber. Den er rig på A- og E-vitaminer og indeholder derudover en række andre vitaminer, mineraler, antioxidanter og fibre.
