    Description

    Døre kl 19 / koncert kl 20
Bemærk: Koncerten foregår i Brønshøj Vandtårn

    In English

Get surrounded by the reverberation between the massive concrete columns at Brønshøj Vandtårn, when microtonal tuba trio Microtub fills the space with resonant harmonies this April. Blue Lake will play a support set of zither, clarinet and acoustic guitar.

With extended tones and microtonal harmonies, the tuba trio Microtub will explore the massive reverberation at Brønshøj Vandtårn this April. With its 40 seconds of reverb, this spectacular construction of a water tower offers a very special acoustic, opening new worlds of sound when Microtub enters the room with their complex compositions. The trio - consisting of Robin Hayward, Peder Simonsen, Martin Taxt - was formed in 2010 and is the world’s first microtonal tuba orchestra. The three tubas - developed by Hayward himself - are tuned in a way that allows them to play intervals smaller than a semitone, which creates strange yet familiar harmonies.

Microtub just released their fifth album “Sonic Drift” (2021) and has played in a lot of venues and festivals around the world through the years. Through minimalistic and drone-like compositions, Microtub examines the possibilities of the three microtonal tubas - playing extended tones that will fill your ears with massive sounds and surround your body with resonating reverb from the big concrete room. Prepare for a meditative experience with Microtub at the water tower this April.

    Blue Lake

Blue Lake is a project for the solo music and collaborations of Jason Dungan, active since 2018. For the concert at Brønshøj Vandtårn, Dungan will perform solo, using a self-built zither, clarinet, and acoustic guitar. Blue Lake will fill the old tower with complex and beautiful tones when he plays a support set before Microtub.
