Serie: Københavnerhistorier 2022, kapitel 1
Vi skal på sporet efter middelalderens København mellem Rådhuspladsen og Kongens Nytorv. Og selvom biskop Absalon skuer ned fra Rådhuset, starter historien før hans periode.
Turen handler om hvad der befinder sig under os, og som arkæologerne bringer frem. Ikke mindst metrobyggeriet har ændret på opfattelsen af forhistorien, men historien om Københavns middelalder er fuld af mørke huller.
På turen kommer vi over voldgrave, gennem kirkegårde og ind på markedspladser og når efterhånden til klostrene. Den forsvundne by af træhuse og sildeboder præger stadig storbyen af idag.
Og vi hører om Absalons indflydelse, selvom han ikke kan få hele æren for Københavns grundlæggelse.
