En strygekvartet kan både være et ensemble bestående af to violinister, en bratschist og en cellist og det kan være et værk komponeret for besætningen to violiner, en bratsch og en cello. Ved denne koncert spiller NeoQuartet ikke nødvendigvis på deres egne instrumenter, eller spiller på instrumenterne sådan som man plejer at gøre.
Der er tre uropførelser på programmet af en finsk, en dansk og en tysk komponist. Tre meget forskellige komponisters bud på et værk til en klassiske besætning. De to øvrige strygekvartetter ved koncerten er Blecharz’ studier af grænser og overgange, Liminal Studies fra 2014, der i hvert fald overskrider grænserne for, hvordan vi normalt hører en strygekvartet og Justé Janulytés Aria fra 2008, der er en langsom undersøgelse af instrumenternes klangverden, hvor der gemmer sig melodistumper rundt omkring i klangfladerne og de lange, udstrakte linier.
