Niels HP bliver ofte nævnt som en af de bedste soulsangere, vi har herhjemme. Med en fortid i det legendariske funkband Ridin’ Thumb med succesudgivelsen DIFFERENT MOVES / DIFFERENT GROOVES, har han været med til at sætte en høj standard inden for genren. I 2004 udgav han sit første album i eget navn PROMISES OF RAIN, der fik en varm velkomst og høstede mange anmelderroser. Med dyb inspiration hentet hos bl.a Stevie Wonder og Donny Hathaway, har Niels HP med sin rytmiske, legende vokal vundet mange hjerter ved hans koncerter i både ind- og udland, og er ikke mindst kendt for sin medvirken i diverse musikteater opsætninger som Hair, Matador, Den eneste ene m.fl.
