Druidepræstinden Norma elskar Pollione, en romersk prokonsul, hvis hemmelige kærlighed til Norma er kølnet, idet han i stedet er blevet forelsket i den unge præstinde Adalgisa. Da Norma finder ud af Polliones forræderi bliver hun opslugt af vrede. Vil hun ofre sin kærlighed til månegudinden?
Norma er en opera fuld af mystik og drømmeagtige scener, kærlighed, hævnbegær, et stærkt kvindeportræt, fyldt med den smukkeste belcantosang, med
bl.a. den legendariska ’Casta Diva’ och duetten ’Mira, o Norma’.
Det er belcantoens mest berömda och myteomspundne opera og Bellinis mesterverk!
Vi er ligeledes stolte over at præsentera dele af det berømte ensemble Camerata Geminiani fra London, med violinisten GianMarco Sanna i spidsen som
kunstnerisk leder, som spiller i den oprindelige stemning, hvor A=432 Hz i stedet for den nutidigt anvendte A=440 Hz.
Dirigenten Jochen Heibertshausen svinger dirigentstokken i ånden fra Wilhelm Furtwängler!

Forestilingen akkompagneres af et kammarorkester.
Camerata Geminiani er det første nutidige strygekammerorkester i London - og formodentlig i verden - som udelukkende spiller i A=432 Hz-stemningen.
Det er sammensat af musikere med international erfaring og fra mange forskellige lande, som deler den samme passion for musik og er blevet modtaget med en meget intensiv respons fra almenheden.
Verdi-stemningen
A=432 Hz, som også kaldes ’Verdi-stemningen’, eftersom Verdi var en forkæmper for denne stemning, er lidt mere end en kvart tone lavere end dagens normale stemning,
der ligger på A=440 Hz, eller i mange koncertsale endnu højere.
Denna stemning er meget mere naturlig for sangerne, men også mere behagelig for publikum!
Placido Domingo, Pavarotti, Birgit Nilsson m.fl. har været fortalere for denne stemning.
