Musik, der lyder som Bach, er af Bach – men alligevel som noget, man aldrig har hørt før.
Hvad hvis Johann Sebastian Bach havde komponeret endnu et sæt Brandenburgkoncerter – denne gang baseret på sine orgeltriosonater?
Det spørgsmål stiller Concerto Copenhagen i deres egenproducerede projekt New Brandenburg Concertos, der både udkommer på album i oktober 2025 og nu kan opleves live i koncertsalen.
I tæt samarbejde med ensemblets musikere har oboist Antoine Torunczyk orkestreret Bachs seks orgeltriosonater (BWV 525–530) i Brandenburg-koncertens ånd. Resultatet er seks koncerter, hvor de originale trestemmige satser folder sig ud i et farverigt kammermusikalsk univers. Her møder publikum et rigt instrumentarium af barokinstrumenter – fra obo da caccia og oboe d’amore til viola d’amore og violoncello da spalla – som kaster nyt lys over musikken og giver den en frisk, transparent klang.
Som Bach selv, der ofte genbrugte og transformerede sin egen musik, arbejder projektet med en balance mellem det velkendte og det overraskende. Torunczyk kalder det “historisk informeret fiktion”: “Ved rejsens ende føles musikken utvivlsomt forvandlet, men alligevel mærkeligt velkendt – som at møde en gammel ven efter mange år.”
Med de ’Nye Brandenburgkoncerter’ inviterer Concerto Copenhagen publikum ind i en musikalsk rejse, hvor man på én gang genopdager Bach og oplever noget helt nyt.
Albummet udgives på Berlin Classics den 24. oktober 2025 og vil være tilgængeligt på CD og alle større streamingplatforme.

In 1999 the internationally acclaimed harpsichordist and chamber musician, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, became the ensemble’s chief artistic director, he was awarded the coveted Léonie Sonning Music Prize in 2007.
