Description
SUMO is presenting its new concept for the first time: BYKlog. An event where together we get the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a topic presented by an urban expert. Prior to his presentation, the presenter has passed on relevant literature that gives us the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic.
For the British architect Peter Cook, drawing has always been the most important tool. He has only built a few buildings, but in turn has distinguished himself as one of the post-war period's most significant architectural theorists and paper architects. In 1960 he co-founded Archigram, a group of young architects who challenged the architectural ideals of their time. They took as a starting point the current currents of the time, such as the space age, prefabricated building elements and information technology, just as they drew inspiration from the American counterculture and pop art scene. This lecture will examine the movement's key works and their impact on subsequent architecture.
