Pierre Dørges New Jungle Orchestra er stadigvæk et af de mest sprudlende bands på den danske jazzscene. Og det selv om de har eksisteret siden 1980og turneret over det meste af kloden. De har ført jazztraditionen videre gennem et ellingtonsk jungle univers med alskens musik i bakspejlet. Deres fængende musikalske show bevæger sig i en sikker balance mellem humor og dyb alvor. Rygraden er i orden, idet en stor del af musikerne har været med fra orkestrets første koncert, men på savannen høres også brøl fra de nye unge jazzløver. Junglemusikken er insisterende udadvendt med inspiration fra alverdens "grooves" og rytmer.
Lige fra første optræden er NJO blevet inspireret af gæster, som har farvet musikken, og nu er turen kommet til maestro Kasper Tranberg.
