Aarhus2017 åbnes officielt d. 21. januar, og det markerer RETHINK Folk Music og FOLKAMOK med en kæmpe fest på byens hotteste klub: HeadQuarters!
RETHINK Folk Music slutter en hel uges folkemusik-camp af med et dette brag af en fest, hvor der præsenteres et fantastisk program som FOLKAMOK har sat på benene! Det bliver lige dele smukt, voldsomt og festligt. Se bare hvad der venter jer:
D.u.K (DK/UK)
D.u.K are an exciting, rocking six-piece folk ensemble from Denmark and the UK, playing the best tunes from both traditions. Consisting of four fiddles, piano and double bass, the band quite simply use raw groove and swing to create an eclectic mix of foot stomping music, from slow lyrical airs to driving jigs, reels and polkas. As well as using original compositions and modern arranging techniques, D.u.K definitely don’t forget the strong roots and traditions whilst combining it with their fresh approach to contemporary folk music.

Christoffer, Jonas og Rasmus fra Trias (DK)
Med udgangspunkt i traditionelt dansk musik skaber vi ny kontemporær folke & roots. Med stor respekt for det gamle er det vores intention at følge den danske folkemusiks arv videre på en udtryksfuld og personlig måde. Karakteristisk for Trias er originale kompositioner der udmunder i kontrastfyldt musik der varierer fra stille ballader til energisk råt swing.

Trio Wolski (SE/DK):
Trio Wolski består af tre unge musikere som bor i Malmø. Musikken er et mix af originale kompositioner og skandinavisk folkemusik, som indeholder alt fra improvisation til velarrangerede værker. Sammen skaber trio Wolski en stærk rytmisk og melodisk identitet, som giver et friskt pust og personligt udtryk i musikken.

Denne lokale gruppe unge folkemusikere har en fast tradition om en jam i Aarhus centrum så ofte det kan lade sig gøre. Ofte er det en blandet flok, men initiativet er ledt an af lovende folkemusikere fra konservatoriet. Alle er dog velkomne, så tag gerne et instrument med!
Vi håber vi ses på HeadQuarters til kaffepunch og polka!
