Inspirationen fra den franske guitarist Django Reinhardt og hans Gypsy Jazz er udgangspunkt for Rêve Bohèmes akustiske sound og livsglade musik. Repertoiret består af nye fortolkninger af Djangos numre, egne kompositioner, og kendte numre fra den amerikanske jazzsanger-tradition. En musikalsk blanding de kalder for "Nordic Gypsy Jazz".
Rêve Bohème spiller Djangos Gypsy Jazz i en moderne, udadvendt og dynamisk stil, der gør dem til nogle af nordens fineste eksponenter inden for denne europæiske jazz-genre.
Ved live-koncerter skaber Rêve Bohème en eksotisk akustisk cocktail, hvor Jens Fuglsangs veloplagte vokal og lyriske sologuitar blander sig elegant med Finn Poulsens virtuose mundharpespil og vokal. Et dynamisk musikalsk univers, der hviler på et solidt rytmisk gypsy jazz-fundament skabt af Robert Pilgaards rytmeguitar, "la pompe", og denne aften Hjalmar Høeg Rønningen swingende basspil.
