Disse citater er bare nogle af de mange entusiastiske presseudsagn Sarah Elgeti Quartet har modtaget - ikke mindst i forbindelse med udgivelsen af de to studiealbums “Into the Open” og “Synchronize”. Førstnævnte blev bl.a. nomineret til en Danish Music Award i kategorien Årets Nye Jazznavn.
Det nye album “Dawn Comes Quietly” udkom i Danmark i juli 2019 med release under Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Man vil kunne høre fornyelse i Sarah Elgetis kompositioner både klang- og karaktermæssigt med en udvidet besætning. Elgeti tager her bl.a. afsæt i egne digte, der kredser om de arketypiske nordiske og græske mytologiske fortællinger om livets rejse. Musikken er nutidig jazz , der forener det lyriske udtryk med det pågående og ekspressive.
De mange forskelligartede indtryk fra disse rejser afspejler sig i kvartettens stilistiske bredde: Fra bløde ballader over funky latin grooves til bebop inspirerede swingnumre i skæve taktarter.
Siden udgivelsen af ”Into the Open” har bandet spillet et hav af koncerter og begejstrede anmeldelser er kommet ind fra DK, US, UK, IT, JP, BR og DE, hvor kvartetten også har været på succesfulde turnéer.
