Edition Copenhagen er beliggende på Christianshavn og rummer et litografisk værksted, rammeværksted og showroom.
Det originale litografiske stentryksværksted blev grundlagt i 1959 af Carl Gustav Urwald. Værkstedet er i dag hjørnestenen af det, som senere blev til Edition Copenhagen. Værkstedet arbejder ud fra de samme tekniske principper, som blev opfundet i 1776 af Alois Senefelder. De særlige sten der anvendes, er mere end 135 millioner år gamle og importeret fra stenbrud i Tyskland.
Kunstnerne
Hvert år inviterer Edition Copenhagen en række internationale og danske kunstnere til at kreere litografier i værkstedet – både etablerede og nye, up-and-coming kunstnere. Kunstneren har altid fuld frihed til at gøre, som de ønsker. Cheflitografen og assistenterne guider kunstneren igennem de tekniske processer og skaber derved et afslappet, behageligt og inspirationsrigt miljø på værkstedet.
Kendte navne er fx Henrik Vibskov, Cathrine Raben Davidsen, Huskmitnavn, Kathrine Ærtebjerg, Julie Nord, Leif Sylvester.
