Description

I februar 2020 udkom bandets fjerde plade, “Folketro”.

Line-up:
Lars Greve: Bas cl, cl
Thommy Andersson: E-bass
Thomas Eiler: Trommer
Lars Bech Pilgaard: Guit, Comp

Kasper Tranberg

In English:

The Danish quartet Slowburn has received praise in Denmark as well as internationally for their bold mix of minimalism, no wave and exotic atmospheres. Band leader Lars Bech Pilgaard has gathered a crew of distinct players. Together they create a highly personal expression that leaves plenty of space for eruptions of noise as well as fragile explorations.

On their latest album, “Folketro”, they take a dive into Pilgaard’s personal heritage in the Western outskirts of Denmark and take inspiration from Danish folk music and folklore without abandoning the adventurous nature of the band.

We’re looking forward to present this brilliant quartet at ALICE!

“A psychedelic landscape with Andersson's thick electric bass laying the foundation for a journey where a spider-web of crystalline guitar sounds slowly evolve into a steady rhythm. This tension between poetic abstraction and immediate riffs and rhythm lies at the heart of this fascinating record that sounds as if the iconic post-rock band Slint travelled to Africa to play jazz and psychedelic music” - All About Jazz

Kasper Tranberg

Danish trumpetist, cornetist, composer and bandleader Kasper Tranberg has been a mainstay of the European music scene for more than two decades, lately known for his work with a.o. Yusef Lateef, Marc Ducret, Jesper Zeuthen, Tim Berne, Jacob Anderskov and Peter Bruun.

His solo trumpet/cornet album, Suite Dilation, marks the third and last release in his trilogy “Suite Dilation” – all released on ILK. In the naked solo format Tranberg portrays the essence of his sound and melodic explorations in the four compositions that is the foundation of the whole trilogy. Kasper Tranberg has played at Jazzhouse in different constellations, and we’re looking forward to him playing a support solo set before Slowburn.
