Jón Kalman Stefánsson gæster d. 11. november Litteraturhuset til en aften i litteraturens tegn med middag og en efterfølgende samtale mellem den islandske forfatter og oversætter, Kim Lembek.
Stefánssons romankunst er prisbelønnet og anmelderrost, og han er ubestrideligt en af Islands allerstørste forfattere. Og dette siger ikke så lidt, da litterært talent synes at være et grundstof, der ulmer vulkanisk i den sorte undergrund: Stefánssons fire nomineringer til Nordisk Råds Litteraturpris taler sit eget tydelige sprog. Nogenlunde på størrelse med universet er den seneste roman i en imponerende række af værker, det er en selvstændig fortsættelse af Fisk har ingen fødder fra 2015.
Denne aftens samtale vil kredse om disse værker, om lidenskaben i bøgerne, det dramatiske landskab som fortællingerne udspiller sig i, lyset, mørket og sorgen – kort sagt – Om Jón Kalman Stefánssons dybt originale forfatterskab.
Kim Lembek, som kender Stefánssons fra ordenes inderste, vil interviewe ham på Litteraturhusets scene efter middagen. Middagen består af 2 serveringer og dertilhørende vin.
