Foredrag om den canadiske digter og sanger Leonard Cohen, som blev 82 år. De fleste af os har en fornemmelse af, hvem Cohen var, men de allerfærreste ved besked om hans poesi, hans tankeverden og livssyn samt hans kamp for at takle forholdet mellem begæret, kvinderne og passionerne på den ene side og afkaldet, kunsten, tvivlen og døden på den anden. Det kaster foredraget lys over på nuanceret vis og ledsages hele vejen igennem af udvalgte musikeksempler, filmklip, udsagn og uddrag fra hans tekster. Vi slutter med numre fra You Want It Darker (2016).
