Musikken har rødder i den nordiske folkemusik og er baseret på gruppens mange års erfaring med at spille musik fra den nordiske folketradition på festivaler rundt omkring i hele Europa. Den er et mix af norske, svenske, danske og færøske traditionelle melodier og selvkomponerede sange, som synges både med stor styrke og bevægende blødhed af de to norske forsangere Maria Franz (også kendt fra Euzen og Heilung) og Ingrid Galadriel.
Den danske multi-instrumentalist Christopher Juul (også kendt fra Valravn, Euzen og Heilung) leder melodierne på mandola, mandolin, percussion og backing-vokal. Musikken har en dynamisk og pulserende rytmesektion, som ledes af Kristian Uhre, der også bidrager til det fire-stemmige kor med sin backing-vokal.
Navnet “Songleikr” består af to ord fra oldnordisk; Songr betyder sang eller synge, leikr betyder leg, sport eller konkurrence. Så ifølge egen fortolkning betyder Songleikr jam session!

Songleikr is a project based on many years of playing Nordic folk and folklore music around historical events and festivals in Europe. The group recorded their debut album “Godtfolk” in 2016 and are now performing live on various festivals around the world.
The music is a mix of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Faroese traditional pieces and self composed songs, sung with equal amount of power and soothing softness from the two Norwegian front singers Maria Franz (also known from Euzen and Heilung) and Ingrid Galadriel.
Leading the melodies is the Danish multi instrumentalist and producer Christopher Juul (also known from Valravn, Euzen and Heilung) on mandola, mandolin, percussion and backing vocals. The music has a dynamic and pulsing rhythm section lead by Kristian Uhre, which also supplements the four voice choir with his backing vocals.
The name “Songleikr” consists of two words from Old Norse; Songr means song or singing, leikr means game, sport or contest. Thus in their own interpretation, Songleikr means jam session!
THE CONCERT IS OPEN FOR EVERYONE.
Entrance is FREE and beverages will be sold.
