Spacemakers blev dannet i 1963, og bandet blev hurtigt populært og efterspurgt i stort set hele landet.
Bandet var kun nogle knægte på 15 år dengang, så når bandet havde spillet i København eller Aarhus, sov de på vejen hjem i bandets folkevognsrugbrød og gik i skole næste morgen.
Det var vildt og sjovt og de elskede det. Men bandet var også rimeligt disciplinerede. Nøjagtigt som nu, hvor bandet nok er det i endnu højere grad.
Der skrives konstant nye numre, øves intenst og arbejdes hårdt i et studie i Odense.
Efter en lang pause, blev bandet gendannet i efteråret 2008 og på forholdsvis kort tid lykkedes det at få løftet Spacemakers til et hidtil uhørt højt niveau, kulminerende med to pladeindspilninger, hvor især kompositionerne “Turn On The Radio”, “Back In 59” og “She Belongs To Me” hittede på diverse radiostationer i ind- og udland.
Spacemakers består i dag af Peder Hansen (forsanger og leadguitarist), Jørn Bonnesen (bas og sang), Jørn Mader (guitar og sang), Palle Bjørn Christensen (piano og orgel) og Nicolaj Fage-Lorenzen (trommer og sang).
