Mange kender nok bedst Peter Vesth når man nævner sangen Veras Vinterven, eller måske fra en herlig sommerferie på Bornholm, hvor Peter og hans bror Torkild var en fast del af musikken på øen i mange år. Med sin guitar om halsen og muntre anekdoter spiller og synger han sine sange med nærhed og en tydelig glæde, der smitter af på sit publikum.
Peter har sunget og spillet i mange årtier og har igennem tiden skrevet noget nær 500 sange, som er nået langt ud over vores landegrænse. Adskillige gange har han været i Nashville Tennessee, for at indspille og skrive sange og på den måde fået en skabt sig en spillestil der i USA nok vil blive kaldt Country and Folk. Sidste år modtog han dog prisen som årets Mandlige Dansktopsanger i Boxen i Herning. Han har nu også haft mere end 50 sange på Dansktoppen og omkring halvdelen har oven i købet nået første pladsen.
