Ansgars Kirke i Odense er i gang med at samle penge ind til et nyt flygel, som vil kunne skabe glæde ved talrige store musikalske oplevelser i kirken langt ind i fremtiden. Ved denne flotte dobbeltkoncert ønsker kirken at give en forsmag på det kommende flygel; et fremragende instrument af mærket Bechstein.
Koncertens første afdeling spilles af Professor emeritus John Damgaard, som tilhører den absolutte elite af danske klassiske pianister. Han er en levende legende på sit instrument og turnerer over hele Verden. Med sig bringer han sin datter, Benedikte Damgaard, som er en ung og fremadstormende violinist, der yderst fortjent høster store roser for sit talentfulde violinspil. Efter første afdeling serveres en forfriskning i pausen, hvorefter koncertens anden afdeling spilles af en af Danmarks førende jazzpianister, Thomas Clausen. Han har spillet med de største navne, udgivet talrige cd’er, modtaget et hav af priser og komponeret adskillige værker. Ved koncerten vil han også netop spille sin egen musik og improvisere.
Al entré går ubeskåret til kirkens flygelfond.
