    Svenskekrigene og stormen på København 1659

    General Hillingsø vil med sin store historiske viden formidle fortællingen om kampene mellem Sverige og Danmark i midten af 1600-tallet, der går under navnet Svenskekrigene. Vi får også svaret på, hvorfor Danmark overlevede som selvstændig nation gennem et vellykket forsvar af Stormen på København.

    Kjeld Hillingsø er forfatter til flere historiske værker, blandt andet bogen ’Broderstrid’, der behandler perioden op til Stormen på København 11. februar 1659.

    Svenskekrigene satte også sit præg lokalt i Egedal, idet bønderne i Smørum satte sig op imod de svenske soldater og nedkæmpede dem. Denne begivenhed er baggrund for den årlige historiske festival: ’Svenske Slaget i Smørum’, der i år finder sted søndag d. 21. maj 2017 ved Kulturhuset i Smørum. Som optakt til Svenske Slaget kan man gennem foredraget få baggrundshistorien om Svenskekrigene på plads.
