The Chairman klar med nyt album og turné
The Chairmans publikum vokser både herhjemme og i udlandet, og den 22. september 2017 er projektets bagmand Lucas Berner klar til at sende sit andet album på gaden. Pladen The Strange Life er en selvbiografisk historiefortælling om Berners oplevelser med angst, destruktiv kærlighed, forventningspres og ambitioner. The Strange Life er et ærligt generationsportræt af en ung mand i 20´erne og er samtidig en invitation ind i Lucas Berners sind.
The Chairmans alt-pop univers er melodramatisk, storslået og mørkt. At sangene er personlige bliver eksempelvis understeget i hans nye single Dandelions, der er en sang om den altopslugende kærlighed. Om at elske en anden så meget, at det ødelægger det oprigtige forhold og bliver til en besættelse, mere end en dybfølt og ægte kærlighed.
Det er de store følelsers kamp, der bliver udkæmpet når The Strange Life kommer på gaden til efteråret. Igennem perioder med depression og behov for at skærme sig fra omverdenen, har Lucas fundet veje ud igen gennem selvpåførte terapeutiske tæsk, som manifesterer sig i hans sange. Han skriver sange, fordi han er nød til det. De er hans udvej, hans frelse og hans katharsis.
Seneste single fra The Chairman, Animate, udkom i februar og havde premiere hos Clash Magazine i England.

Animate fik stor opmærksomhed både i UK og i Tyskland. Herhjemme har både Animate og The Chairmans singler fra debutalbummet 2064 ligget i høj rotation hos P6, som også inviterede The Chairman til P6 Beat Rocker Koncerthuset i januar i år.
The Chairmans sange hæver sig langt over det banale, og live løfter de sig til en totaloplevelse af dimensioner, når han sammen med sit band tager på turné i oktober 2017.
