The Pogo Problem, som er et dansk/islandsk samarbejde under ledelse af den islandske guitarist og komponist Steinar Guðjónsson, udkom i juni 2017 med deres selvbetitlede debutalbum fra pladeselskabet Fiol Optik. Pladen har fået positive anmeldelser og nummeret “Difference of Opinion” blev nomineret til “Icelandic Music Award, Jazz composition of the year”. Derudover har numrene “Legg” og “Fair Enough” ligget som top 10 over mest spillede sange på P8 jazz i år, så det giver sig selv, at der er jazz i absolut topklasse, som besøger Sidecar denne søndag.
Komponisten Steinar Guðjónsson akkompagneres af Anders Hellborn (Søren Ulrik Thomsen og det Glemtekvarter, Billow, Juju Bell) på elbas og Kristoffer Tophøj (Tako Lako, Wangel, Interfoam) på trommer. Musikken beskrives bedst som en god blanding af instrumental pop-jazz, nordisk jazz, og progressiv rock.

The Pogo Problem, an Icelandic/Danish collaboration under the leadership of Icelandic guitarist/composer Steinar Guðjónsson, debuted in the summer of 2017 with their self-titled album released by Fiol Optik record label. The album was accredited positive reviews and the trio received a nomination for “Icelandic Music Award, Jazz composition of the year” for their tune “Difference of Opinion”. In addition, the compositions "Legg" and "Fair Enough" have been ranked in top 10 over most played songs on P8 jazz.
The composer, Steinar Guðjónsson, is accompanied by Anders Hellborn (Søren Ulrik Thomsen og det Glemtekvarter, Billow, Juju Bell) on electric bass and Kristoffer Tophøj (Tako Lako, Wangel, Interfoam) on drums. Their music is a fusion of instrumental pop, Nordic jazz, and progressive rock.
