"The Way The Dead Love", et operamanifest, præsenteret af Lydenskab ensemble:
Med inspiration fra afro-cubanske ritualer bifalder forestillingen de af menneskets og i særdeleshed kvindens drifter, som indførslen af kristendommen var med til at undertrykke.
Den giver kvinden hendes seksualitet tilbage i en omskrivning af skabelsesberetningen,
som den er fortalt af Hesiod, og ikke som den beskrives i biblen.
"The Way the Dead Love" er Pandoras manifest, hvori hun udtrykker sin uafhængighed overfor Gud.
En spejling af vores skizofrene samfund og en invitation til at frisætte os selv
fra en kontrolleret hverdag, ved at tage os mere tid til at nyde og dyrke vores instinkter/drifter.
Lydenskab præsenterer som en del af Europæisk Kulturhovedstad Aarhus 2017, nyskrevet libretto og musik af den prisbelønnede komponist Louis Aguirre, i en forestilling med inspiration fra og tekst af forfattere fra Hesiod til Catherine Breillat.
"The Way The Dead Love", kan beskrives som et tværmedialt møde mellem Louis Aguirre (CU/DK),
ensemble Lydenskab, sanger Laura Bowler (GB), dansere Julia B. Laperierre CDN/DE
og Tizo All (BR/D) og instruktør Troels Primdahl, i scenografi af Anders Bigum, Troels Primdahl & David Ramírez Gómes.
"The Way The Dead Love" spiller d. 8. september kl. 20 og d. 9. september kl. 17.
