Forestillingen Thelonious er en prisbelønnet audiovisuel forestilling af Belgiske Zonzo Compagnie i samarbejde med jazztrioen 'De Beren Gieren'. Tempoet er højt og musikken vild og vidunderlig. Der er ingen dialog i forestillingen og musikken er udelukkende Thelonious Monks kompositioner hvor af flere med tiden er blevet jazz standards.
Thelonious Monk var et musikalsk geni, der skubbede til jazztraditionens grænser med sin vilde brug af avanceret rytmik og harmonik. Musikkens opfindsomhed afspejles i en livlig videoscenografi, der som musikken er både legesyg og finurlig.
Forestillingen er en del af den årlige BIG BANG festival hvor vi over to dage fylder Musiktorvet, Amager Bio, BETA og Børnekulturhus Ama’r med fantastiske musikforestillinger, installationer, koncerter og workshops. Vi kalder den en festival for eventyrlystne ører og håber på at i har lyst til at gå på opdagelse i noget af alt det andet skønne vi præsenterer i løbet af weekenden.
