Uyarakq x Peand-eL x Tarrak x Taatsi
Som en del af Nordatlantens BryggesUp coming-tema præsenterer vi Grønlands absolut hotteste hiphop-crew. Oplev Uyarakq x Peand-eL x Tarrak x Taatsi til en absolut hæsblæsende martsaften (dørene åbner kl. 20).
Rap og hiphop kulturen er på ingen måde et nyt fænomen på Grønland. Med bands som Nuuk Posse og Prussic blev de første skridt taget allerede omkring årtusindeskiftet.
Lige nu er samlingspunktet produktionsselskabet Mediahouse Qunnersuaq i Nuuk med Aqqalu Engell aka. Uyarakq i spidsen. Han har samlet et crew af både erfarne og helt unge rappere, som lige nu rykker ret godt på såvel den hjemlige som den udenlandske rap-scene.
Tarrak hamrede i efteråret igennem med det racisme-kritiske nummer Tupilak, der havde over 100.000 visninger på på Youtube og Facebook, hvilket er uhørt i grønlandsk musikhistorie. Lyt til Tarraks Tupilak.
Taatsi slog igennem med hiphopgruppen Prussic. Han arbejder på helt nyt hårdtslående og dybt personligt materiale, som vil blive præsenteret live for første gang i Danmark.
Mastermind Uyarakq og Peand-eL udgav i efteråret det eksperimenterende hiphop album, Kunngiitsuuffik (Republik) med politiske og samfundsrevsende tekster. Det anmelderroste album blev nomineret til Nordisk Råds Musikpris '16 og duoen er nu bl.a. booket til forårets SXSW i Austin, Texas, samt gigs i både England og Canada. Lyt her.
Vi er super stolte over at kunne præsentere disse kunstnere i DK, og det bliver med garanti en helt fantastisk aften! Både før og efter koncerten er der dj-set med Uyarakq.
