VIDEN & VIN MED DTU AQUA, CENTRE FOR OCEAN LIFE
I forbindelse med Forskningens Døgn inviterer DTU Aqua på Viden & Vin + Vand hos BMW Experience Center.
I år er temaet for Forskningens Døgn ‘Klima – med særligt fokus på havet’. Vi er derfor stolte over at kunne invitere til en spændende aften med professor Thomas Kiørboe fra DTU Aqua, Centre for Ocean Life med temaet:
’Havets usynlige liv’

Livet i havet er helt domineret af mikroskopiske organismer, som lever i en fysisk verden vi ikke kan begribe med vores intuition: de fysiske regler for livets udfoldelse er anderledes end dem vi kender fra vores makroskopiske verden.
Dette usynlige liv er imidlertid mangfoldigt, smukt, og fascinerende. Ved hjælp af videoklip og animationer vil jeg vise hvorledes dette liv udfolder sig og løser de Darwinistiske udfordringer som er fælles for alt liv: at æde, overleve, og formere sig. Hvordan sanser mikroorganismer deres omverden, hvordan kommunikerer de, og hvordan finde de et bytte eller en mage i en blind verden? Dette havets ’mikrobiom’ er grundlaget for ’højere’ live (alt det vi kan se og spise) og for havets rolle i det globale kulstofregnskab og reguleringen af vores klima. Jeg vil vise hvordan forståelsen af vekselvirkningen mellem organismerne er bestemmende for mikrobiomets vigtige funktioner.
