Hvor går grænsen mellem drøm og virkelighed? Det er et spørgsmål, som til alle tider har inspireret og fascineret. Drømmene er det vigtige rum, hvor kunsten fødes. Virkeligheden er det rum, hvor kunsten manifesteres. Selv når kunsten er skabt, kan både kunstner og publikum komme i tvivl: Var det blot en drøm?
Musikken er ankeret i festspillets profil og program. Musikken skal undersøge forholdet mellem drøm og virkelighed. I vågen tilstand kommer vi måske tættest på vores drømme netop gennem musikken og kunsten. Måske er musikken endda skabt af det samme materiale som vores drømme.
