WHAT’S UP & WHAT´S DOWN – seminar om islandsk samtidskunst
Hør om de seneste tendenser og nøglepersoner, når vi i samarbejde med Islands Ambassade slår dørene op for et aftenseminar med oplæg og samtaler ved nogle af de førende specialister og udøvere fra den islandske kunstscene.
Islandske kunstnere gør det usædvanligt godt, både i hjemlandet og internationalt. Men hvad er egentlig på spil - og hvilke strenge spiller man på?
Oplæg og artist-talk
Aftenen vil byde på oplæg ved kunstformidler og kurator Heiðar Kári Rannversson, forhenværende direktør ved Islands Nationalgalleri Dr. Halldór Björn Runólfsson og udstillingschef ved Reykjaviks Kunstmuseum og selvstændig kurator Markús Þór Andrésson
Desuden samtaler kunstneren Shoplifter (Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir), som er Islands repræsentant på Venedig Biennalen 2019, med Birta Guðjónsdóttir, der kuraterer den islandske pavillon på Biennalen og har været udstillingsdirektør ved Islands Nationalgalleri (2014-18).
Seminaret varer to timer og afholdes i forbindelse med udstillingen High & Low, der sætter fokus på islandsk samtidskunst. Udstillingen kan ses fra 1. december 2018 til 17. februar 2019.
OBS. Arrangementet foregår på engelsk.
Dørene og caféen åbner kl. 19, og der er unummererede sæder.

Både seminaret What’s Up & What’s Down og udstillingen High & Low er arrangeret af Islands Ambassade i samarbejde med Nordatlantens Brygge i anledning af Islands 100-års suverænitetsjubilæum.
